The launch of the DOST-PTRI Regional Yarn Production and Innovation Center (RYPIC) in Isabela marks an important milestone in supporting textile artisans and natural fibers!
RYPIC is a micro-spinning facility that produces yarns from natural fibers like cotton, abaca, bamboo, and pineapple leaf.
The yarns produced at RYPIC will supply the robust handloom weaving industry in Northern Luzon, empowering our local weavers and designers with access to innovative materials.Â
Working alongside partner agencies and institutions, including two textile innovation hubs at state universities, RYPIC aims to maximize the use of natural textile fibers in the region, improve production capability, and foster the growth of our local textile sector.
An exhibit at the launch event showcased the transformation of fibers to fabrics and products that use blends of cotton with pineapple, banana, bamboo, and abaca.
Also on display were handloom woven fabrics from Indigenous Enabel Craft, an artisan enterprise based in Quezon, Isabela.
As the marketing partner of RYPIC, Panublix is honored to be part of this important step towards a regenerative future for the fashion industry.Â
We look forward to making Philippine yarns and textiles more accessible to weavers and designers!Â
